If something is not right with your purchase, or you would like a different machine, here is how it works at Laptop Malta.
Exchange within 3 working days
If you change your mind, you can exchange your machine within 3 working days of your purchase for a similar or a more expensive machine. If you choose a more expensive model, you simply pay the difference. Please bring the machine in its original condition together with your proof of purchase.
Warranty periods
Every product we sell comes with a warranty form that shows the exact warranty period for that item. As a general rule:
- Used and refurbished machines: 6 months
- New machines: 24 months
For full details see our Our Guarantees page.
Batteries
Batteries are consumable parts and their lifetime is not covered by warranty.
Warranty on our repairs
Repairs carried out by our team are covered by a warranty of 30 days on the replaced parts and 60 days on the repair work. This includes any component we fit for you during a repair, for example a screen. That work is fully covered by this service warranty, so your repair is always protected. The 24 month product warranty applies to the machines we sell, and we explain both so it is clear which cover applies.
How the warranty process works
If a product develops a covered fault, please bring it to our service point together with your proof of purchase. The process is as follows:
- Our repair team examines the device. The examination takes up to 7 working days from the moment we receive it.
- We diagnose the fault and confirm whether it is covered by the warranty.
- If it is covered, we repair the product, or replace it with a comparable product of at least equal functionality. A replacement may be new or second hand.
- A repair or replacement does not start a new warranty period.
- If a repair takes longer than 45 days, you are entitled to request a temporary device for the duration of the repair.
Please back up your data before handing in a device. Data may be lost or the drive may be reformatted during a repair, and we cannot be responsible for data loss.
What is not covered
The warranty does not cover accidental or liquid damage, cosmetic damage, misuse, abuse, unauthorised modification or repair by anyone other than our team, or damage from power surges and similar external causes. It does not affect your legal statutory rights.
