The GeForce mining limit could be completely unlocked. Or no?
Can you imagine that the GeForce mining limit could be unlockable to anyone? There was a statement from a developer, named Sergey regarding this. Sergey said: ‘Yes, it is possible, we can unlock GeForce.’ He also promised that soon he will publish the NVIDIA RTX LHR v2 Unlocker software package.
NVIDIA provided mining limits to GeFors in May last year in the hopes that it would prevent VGAs from moving to mines. In the end, the LHR, or Lite Hash Rat models worked just as massively as before.
So it seems, the whole concept failed in the market, and since then some limit easing option appeared. Now this developer claims that he has completely hacked NVIDIA and will release a pre-release software package called NVIDIA RTX LHR v2 Unlocker on 26th February, via the GitHub page below.
In the preliminary tests, LOLMINER v1.45 also managed to measure the extent of the changes, and in many cases, it was clear what each VGA would be able to do without the mining limit.
However, despite all the great sayings, it has since been proven that the news was false. The announcement of a GeForce mining limit software package was a lie.
Although the project was originally released on February 26, NVIDIA RTX LHR v2 Unlocker itself became available for download sooner. This is the application that would in principle modify the BIOS of each VGA or download a driver for unlimited mining. In reality, it does neither because the BIOS modification file cannot be found in the installed files, but it downloads an alleged driver from a remote server.
This may even seem realistic under the name “511.65-desktop-win64bit-international-nsd-dch-whql.exe”, but the whole file is 155 kB, so to say it gently, it’s not what it looks like, and a lot of virus-scanning software alarm for it.
Based on the results, the whole thing seems to be a lie, and GitHub has already removed the page in question. It is not yet clear what this person, Sergey wanted to achieve, as the exact operation of his software has not yet been revealed. Given that many would use it in machines designed for mining, there really isn’t much opportunity for attack unless the goal was connected with crypt wallet. There is some reality to this, as these machines are good for anything other than mining, but if Sergey gets only a portion of the results of the work done, he can gain a lot from it.
Interesting news always pops up, but it doesn’t hurt to examine its background, because as in this case, it may turn out that the news is false.
