Data Deletion Request

How to ask Laptop-Malta to delete the personal data we hold about you.

What we hold about you

If you have bought from us, brought a machine in for repair, or contacted us, we may hold some or all of the following:

  • Your name and the contact details you gave us (email address, phone number, and address if we delivered to you).
  • Details of the device you bought or brought in, and what work was done on it.
  • Messages you sent us, whether by email, through the website form, or on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

How to ask us to delete it

Ask us in any of these ways, and tell us your name together with the email address or phone number you used when you dealt with us. We need that to find your records and to be sure we are talking to the right person.

  • Email: [email protected], with Data deletion in the subject line.
  • Phone: +356 7773 4444
  • In person: 58 Triq Birkirkara, St Julian's, Monday to Friday 10:00 to 18:00, Saturday 11:00 to 17:00.

What happens next

We check that the request really comes from you, then delete the data we are free to delete. Under the General Data Protection Regulation this is done within one month of the request. If the request is complicated and we need longer, we will tell you, and explain why.

You do not have to give a reason, and asking costs nothing.

What we cannot delete

Some records we are required by law to keep, and those we cannot remove on request. This applies in particular to invoices and the accounting records behind them, which tax law obliges us to retain for a set period. If a warranty is still running on a machine you bought from us, we also need to keep enough information to honour it.

Everything outside that we delete.

Messages on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp

If you contacted us on one of these, the same request covers the copy we hold. Note that the message also sits on Meta's own systems, and removing it there is done through the settings of the app you used. We can only delete what is on our side.

If you are not satisfied

You can take the matter to the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Malta, which supervises data protection here.

Our full privacy policy explains what we collect and why.
